Is your transfer case bad?

How to tell...

The best way to check is to have your repair shop drain the fluid. Check for the following:

Is there any fluid?
Does the fluid smell burnt?
Is the fluid silvery in color?
Are there metal pieces in the fluid?

If the answer to any of these questions is "Yes," then most of the time it is an indication that your transfer case is bad and needs to be replaced.

IMPORTANT: Electric Shift Motors

Keep your existing motor and sensor

Transfer cases do not include electric shift motors and sensors with any transfer case shipped to customers.

If possible, retain your existing electric shift motors or sensors for your replacement transfer case. In some cases, we have shift motors available for purchase but please verify availability prior to ordering.

Problems with your Transfer Case

Contact Transfer Case Pro immediately at: 800-683-7623 (800-MUD-ROAD) Have the following information ready: transfer case model number, purchase date, invoice number and the nature of the problem.

Core Returns

To return your old rebuildable core (no cracks or holes & not burned up from lack of oil), use the original shipping container & foam provided. The transfer case must be completely drained. Shipping companies may stop shipment of boxes showing signs of leakage.

Shipping

Shipping within the contiguous United States is $100 per transfer case. Please note that the $100 shipping does not apply to the cast iron models. Most of our transfer cases are in stock and we do ship worldwide. Most orders receive same day shipping.
